This season just like any other started off with the FRC kick off day, held at McKinley High School's auditorium. After hearing about this years game we collected the teams KOP (kit of parts) we then headed back to the school, after getting our caffeine to prepare us for the long day ahead of preparation. Once we got to the school, we immediately gathered in one room and all read the rules to Stronghold.
From lessons learned from last year, we decided that after watching the video, and before reading the rules, to have each of us brainstorm individually first; because we wanted to have an open mind when coming up with ideas. Once we came up with ideas, each of us then jotted them down, and started to read the rules to understand the game more.
Before we could actually start to brain storm, we all came together to discuss the rules, and our limitations in the game. Then finally the time came for everyone to brainstorm design ideas, and strategies. Our goal this season is to stress the design process; to do this we are documenting all prototypes,, take pictures, and have continuous weekly, and daily goals. We then finished off with two different designs, and when tomorrow comes we are ready to build and test!
