2020 HAWAIIAN ELECTRIC COMPANIES HAWAII VEX VRC STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS
It’s hard to believe that this was our last competition of the year, and as a team, for the 2019-2020 season due to COVID-19. Teams 4142A and 4142B flew over to the Big Island to compete in the 2020 Hawaiian Electric Companies Hawaii VEX VRC State Championships held at University of Hawaii Hilo from January 10, 2020 to January 11, 2020.
Although 4142A didn’t rank as high as we hoped after all the qualification matches were done, they pushed through and were able to win their final matches with their alliance 4109A, 808 Robotics, with a score of 48 points to 32 points (first final match) and 56 points to 26 points (second final match).
4142B and their alliance 4442X, Navigator Robotics, from Island Pacific Academy, won their quarterfinal match, but lost in their semifinal match to their opponents, 4142A and 4109A, with a score of 56 points to 41 points.
This competition put a wrap to our 2019-2020 Tower Takeover season and we all faced many ups and downs, but in the end it was all worth it for a rewarding season!
