iREX CUP VEX ROBOTICS COMPETITION
4142A and 4142B take on Japan! 9 members from our team got the opportunity to travel to Japan and compete in the iREX Cup VEX Robotics Competition held at Tokyo Big Sight on December 21, 2019.
There’s a saying “Work hard, play hard,” and that’s what we did. We landed in Japan on December 14, 2019, and from that moment until competition we all had fun sightseeing and bonding as a team. We went to places all around Osaka and Tokyo, such as Osaka Castle, Hiroshima (Peace Museum), Nara Deer Park, Harajuku, Dotombori, Tsukiji Fish Market, and Asakusa. We also got to experience a tour of Mt. Fuji!
On December 20, 2019, we headed to Tokyo Big Sight to look at all the different displays and exhibitions they had going on. After, we helped set up the fields and pit areas for the competition that would take place the next day.
After “playing hard,” we were all ready to compete. 4142B remained undefeated throughout the qualification matches, and 4142A only lost one out of their four qualification matches giving them a win-lose-tie record of 3-1-0.
